OUR HISTORY:

Beausejour Community Church is the result of God answering prayer. For years, people in and around the Beausejour area had been praying for the Lord to do something new in their community. By the beginning of 1992, everyone sensed the answer to their prayers was on the way. Two couples met in March of 1992 to pray about raising up a new church fellowship in the area. They began meeting in a large home just across the bridge in the St. Ouens area for a time of singing and prayer.

These meetings began to grow almost immediately. People from all different walks of life began to come and enjoy the fellowship. From May until August of 1992, Pastor Wally Wildman from Winnipeg (who was also the founding pastor of Springs back in 1980) served as Interim Pastor. Pastor Mac Dumcum, then of Portage La Prairie, began to serve the congregation in August of the same year, and was called to be the full-time pastor in October.

On November 22, 1992, the congregation of this little church family ratified a Constitution and a Statement of Faith, and inducted 22 charter members into what was then called Beausejour Christian Fellowship. After meeting a couple of times in the old United Church Building on Fourth Street, and Sunday nights in the Baptist Church, negotiations were made with the Beau-Head Seniors Association for the use of their facility on Sunday mornings. The church continued meeting there until they purchased the old MacLeod’s store in September of 2002.

Pastor Mac Dumcum led the congregation from October of 1992 until November 1998, when Sheldon Savage was appointed as the Interim Pastor for a period of six months. After Pastor Sheldon completed his interim role, BCC was without a lead pastor from April of 1999 until January of 2000 when Roland Rendell was brought in as the new Lead Pastor.

In May of 2001, the name of the church was changed from Beausejour Christian Fellowship to Beausejour Community Church to reflect the fact that our church is here for the community. In June of 2002, the church became affiliated with the Canadian Foursquare Gospel Church .

In November of 2006, Roland and his family moved away, and in January of 2007, Chris Jordan was installed as the new Lead Pastor of BCC. He and his wife Liza moved here from Surrey, BC with their four children, Caleb, Tori, Austin and Hannah.

From 2010-2012, Pastor Chris and Liza took teams from the church on a summer mission trip to Costa Rica. They partnered together with Canadian missionaries John and Debbie Overholt. These trips were life-changing experiences for everyone involved.

One of our church’s unique features right from the beginning was that it was primarily made up of young families. This is unique because many of the churches in town are predominantly made up of older people. This has led BCC to gear its services to reaching the younger generation, while not excluding the older ones.

The people of BCC want everyone who walks through the door to know that they are loved by God and the members of the church. Our simple motto is Loving God and Loving People.

In 2012, Beausejour Community Church celebrated 20 years of ministry. For over 20 years, our church has been a lighthouse in our community, providing hope, healing and restoration to all people. As we look to the future, our prayer is that we would continue to be a source of encouragement and comfort to our community.

OUR VALUES:

1. We value: WORSHIP – Loving God
Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matthew 22:37-38). Our highest calling as believers is to love God – to worship Him – with all of our hearts.

2. We value: FELLOWSHIP – Loving People
Jesus said, “The second greatest commandment is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39). Our church is called to be a place of love, acceptance and forgiveness, one that provides hope, healing and restoration for people’s broken lives.

3. We value: DISCIPLESHIP – Teaching and Training People
God has called us to equip His people through His Word to do His work and build up the church, and to help God’s children to grow spiritually – becoming more and more like Jesus every day. (Eph. 4:12-13).

4. We value: MINISTRY – Releasing Spiritual Gifts
We believe that God has given spiritual gifts to each all believers. We want to help people discover and develop their gifts so that God's generosity can flow through them. (1 Peter 4:10).

5. We value: EVANGELISM – Reaching the Lost
Jesus has called us to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15). We have a responsibility to share God’s love with the people in our community, so that lost people can come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Saivour.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Beausejour Community Church exists to REACH people with the love of God, to CONNECT them in loving relationships with other Christians, to help them to GROW in their faith through God’s Word, to challenge them to DISCOVER their gifts, and WORSHIP God with their lives.

OUR VISION STATEMENT:
LOVING GOD AND LOVING PEOPLE
